Watching an episode of 24 with my mum is like playing a game of “Spot the Propaganda”. It goes a bit like this:
Women are weak! 10 points.
Those that aren’t are manipulative or plain murdering evil! 20 points.
Torture is okay if you get results with it! 10 points.
And mental torture is okay no matter what: 20 points.
Political activists are whiny ingrateful traitors! 10 points.
ALL MUSLIMS ARE TERRORISTS! 10 points.
Except if they’ve lived in the ‘States long enough to learn good American values: 20 points.
Breaking the law is quite fine if you’re right! 10 points.
Even if you point guns at innocent bystanders and threaten to kill them, quite likely mentally scarring them for life: 20 points.
130 points! Not bad… and that’s just in the first 5 episodes. Let’s see how many we can collect before the show ends.

It’s better than a joystick
And better than a pen.
It sure beats a gamepad:
The mouse is your friend!
You’ll hit where you aim
And you will win your fights.
Precision is key
With those marvellous mice!
Joysticks can be nice
If you’re planning to fly,
And a mouse cannot write,
I’m not gonna lie.
And gamepads are cool
If all that you do,
Is stick to your couch
And your TV like glue.
And yes, if you race,
It’s a matter of feel:
You may drive better
By using a wheel.
But when it comes down,
To what games are about
- shooting some people -
Then please have no doubt!
You will aim better
And you WILL rock the house
If you do what I tell you:
You must use a mouse!

Man, a lot of stuff has happen since my last update. It all just seems rather trivial, so I didn’t think I’d bother you guys with it. But of course, I just remembered that sharing your immensely uninteresting daily experiences with the Internet At Large is the entire point of having a LiveJournal, so now you’ll get the summarized version. Hey, at least I’m not whining about anything! …today.

Another video game entry. Feel free to browse somewhere else if you don’t give a damn. I recommend here or here.
Brief open message to the developers of Fable: For your own safety and the sanity of all your players, DO NOT COMBINE LONG SECTIONS WITHOUT SAVE POINTS WITH TIMED QUESTS! When I’ve spent 20 minutes fighting my way through three bloody areas of your game and carefully collecting every item and exploring every nook and cranny on the way, having to start ALL OVER because I take half a minute too long killing the last 6 enemies in the last area of the mission is approximately 87% likely to cause me to quit the game and kick a random object in the room.
Thank you. End of message.

Fate seems intent to balance out my happiness with equal amounts of pain and inconvenience lately. It’s no secret that it’s winter up here, and thus rather cold. I was, however, under the impression that the snow was melting and that the streets were thus clear of ice. I was wrong, as a 90 degree bend in the road was eager to point out on my way home yesterday. After a rather nasty fall at full velocity, I have now learned that when there is snow and darkness, one is well advised to move at a slow speed. Luckily, ice is good at preventing nasty injuries, as you mostly just slide a bit after falling. Still, my bike weighs a lot when it lands on you.

Will be the year when…
- My second 19″ Samsung TFT monitor arrives.
- I watch Syriana, Underworld: Evolution, Ice Age 2, Mission: Impossible 3, The Da Vinci Code, X-MEN 3, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Sin City 2, and possibly other movies which have yet to catch my attention.
- My conscription ends.
- I get a new job… in the QA department of IO Interactive (<- wishful thinking).
- I celebrate the closure of the second decade of my life.
- Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Splinter Cell 4, and Neverwinter Nights 2 are released.
- The Nameless Mod is finished and released with ~20 hours of play time and full voice acting.
- We sell a boatload of copies of TNM on CD incl. a nice printed manual and the complete soundtrack.
- I create my first module for Neverwinter Nights 2.
- I join the university of Copenhagen to get a bachelor degree in film- and media science.
- I finally find somebody with whom to form a band.
