First time is free…

Last day at Greenpeace today. It began with a complete fiasco and ended with a great time.

I arrived around 11 am like I’d been asked to. The plan was that I’d be taking care of the phones while all the real employees were at a meeting out in town. Only the accountant would be there along with me until the others would return at half past 4 pm and give me a proper send-off. However, the accountant had not yet arrived, and I had no key. So standing there locked out of the office at 11 am, I picked up the mail and my cake and went over to my mum to pass the time. To console me, my wonderful mother took me out to lunch followed by a nice long walk around town.

When 4 pm finally arrived, I took my cake and the mail back to the GP office where it turned out the accountant had been since 1 pm. I did call the office three times thoughout the day to see if she had arrived yet, but it sounds about right that my last call was somewhere around 1 pm. Anyway, we ate some cake and drank some beer and I got a farewell gift :o

World of Warcraft O_o

Which leads me to the conclusion that: I’m screwed. As I install this game, the progress bar of the installation program will symbolize the game gradually eating up my life. Byte by byte. I am doomed. I will never again see the light of day!

Well either that, or I’ll play the game for a month and stop when the first month of subscription that came with the game runs out.

In any case, it was really nice of them and it totally caught me by surprise, and I’m SO gonna drop in every now and then to help them out with some graphics for their reports or their website. Just like they want. Damn peer pressure.
