Cat?
W00T, had a great day today.
Firstly, I went with my dad to pick up a new office chair that my mum bought me last Tuesday. It’s this really cool boss-like chair. When I get home and prepared to assemble it, I realized a piece was missing. This had me worried, so I called the shop, but after they promised they’d call the manufacturer first thing Monday morning, they realized the missing part was only needed for the other two models (apparently, stupidly, the assembling instructions covered three different models of that chair, and they hadn’t written this >_<). So I got the chair put together in 5 minutes, and I can tell you that my arse is really very comfortable now.
Then I opened up UnrealEd and examined my handywork on TNM from yesterday. Trestkon helpfully pointed my attention towards two considerable BSP errors in the vicinity of the latest things I added. But! Within 15 minutes, I had located and eliminated the sources of both errors (neither of which had anything to do with what I’d added). Then I went about finishing up the last additions for today, and while I was working on the Slums level, I had a look at the brushwork of an old parking basement and some other things I added to the level myself. I fixed something like 5 potentially error-creating brushwork fuckups. Man, I sucked back then.
And most importantly: I got a job! Had a job interview yesterday, and they called today to tell me I’m hired. I’ll be working 37 hours a week with user support in the IT department of the administration centre of the Ministry of Culture. The ministry handles support and promotion of all sorts of arts, entertainment, sports, etc. But that doesn’t really involve me, I’ll just be fixing people’s computer problems. Should be interesting. The salary is really nice, so the only problem is that I have to get up around 7 or even half past 6 every morning so I can be at work at 8 am O_o
Should be an interesting test of my (virtually nonexistant) self-discipline abilities.
