Well holy crap, I guess it’s spring. Even if it kinda feels kinda like summer.
Mmmmm. I made the 10 or so km ride home in about 25 minutes today. Wind in my back, sun in my face, and my mind was soaring several inches above my head all the way. This weather isn’t very good motivation to spend all day in front of a computer, but my paycheck and my desire to finish TNM defeat the weather every time.
Tech support is a good enough job in most ways, but you gotta be prepared to handle some conflicts. As I’m actually internal tech support, there’s not a lot of abuse, but there can be plenty of frustration (or panic) to deal with from your users and from yourself. Mostly though, people are nice enough and realize we can’t solve all their problems in less than 10 minutes. Well there was this one woman yesterday who gave us 7 minutes to make some obscure program work on her laptop, but we decided to not even look at that for at least 15 minutes as a matter of principle.
Yep… it’s all good. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll go lie on my back on the grass, staring up into the clear sky for a while.
