Considering a relapse
Do any of you guys play WoW any longer? On European servers, in particular. I recently got The Burning Crusade for free with a 10 day trial because I no longer subscribe, and I’m considering getting into it again. I never did get that mount I wanted to try out, and I hear they come in flying variants now. Sounds kinda neat.
Although I guess if I want to get a mount I’ll need to reach level 40 and the easiest way to do that is to pick up again where I left off with my level 35 troll. It’s just… I’d kinda like to do some roleplaying, you know? My troll was on an RP PvE server (Moonglade), but in 4 months of playing I only ever met 2 people who took their characters seriously. I guess WoW isn’t the best venue for that sort of stuff.
*Sigh*

I have never played and am trying to never start playing WoW.
I KNOW that I will become an addict, I know I’m too weak to resist playing something like that if I have an account. I’ve seen it before on single-player games, but then there’s an end to it sometime. Not in WoW. So I’m just going to let the whole MMO stuff pass. Far too dangerous.
Thanks for the link btw

When I got WoW as a farewell present from Greenpeace, I thought my life had effectively ended. But after 4 months I just go so tired of the endless mindless grinding and the boring quests that I just gave up.
As for the link, well… you boost my ego, I boost yours. That’s the way it works, right?

I know that it may get dull after some time, but I really don’t trust myself anywhere near it

Am i the only one who had to quit WoW because i found it to addictive?!
Actually i was so lucky as to meet an RP guild during my first few days playing the game. So most of my gaming time actually went with RP meetings….having a pint…meeting with other RP guilds….and tons of stuff like that. I guess you´ve just been unlucky Jonas. I would suggest that you join an RP server (Argent Dawn - incase i ever start playing again) and then use the out of character public channel to find an RP guild. Its fairly important to talk to other players out of character before joining their guild. It might be a nice thought to be able to RP 100% of the time - but its a bit like the idea of one day getting paid a million bucks because you where nice and helped an old lady across the street…..its just not going to happen!
But the RP guilds are out there! - sadly Blizzard made a huge mistake when they launched BC. They added some very conflicting stuff to the lore of WoW, and that actually made a lot of players leave….like everyone in my old guild….but im done with WoW now….its WAY to addictive…..now im playing Eve Online…sigh.

Hahah if you mean the whole spacecraft stuff, I think conflicting is an understatement. What a load of bull. I mean the fantasy-sci-fi mix worked fine in Might & Magic 6, but it’s a difficult balance to strike.

I suspended my account after 5 months because I lost motivation after 3 months of quite excessive playing. I have 2 chars, a warrior somewhere close to 60 and a paladin at level 65. I think BC wasn’t bad but after all the gameplay is just too reptitive to invest all the necessary time and it also lacks worthy rewards for the endgame. The flying mounts are for level70 only, btw. For sure they are cool but they come too late in the game and they are restricted to the addon maps.
All in all it was a wonderful experience to explore the WoW but it lasted too short.
