It’s mainly about games. Game design, game writing, game scripting, game modding, game studies, game art, game news, game politics, game testing, game communities, and of course… game playing.
It’s also about photography, university, cats, books, films, music, vikings, linguistics, and culture at large, plus whatever else strikes my fancy hard enough to make me write about it here.
But it’s mainly about games.
My name, as is unmodestly advertised at the top of this site, is Jonas Wæver. I nominally live in Denmark, but in practice I live on the Internet. I have a BA in Film and Media Studies from Copenhagen University and an MSc in Game Design from the IT University of Copenhagen. I’m also a graduate from the (deep breath) Danish Academy of Digital, Interactive Entertainment, where I’ve served as a game designer on the games Imachination and Broken Dimensions.
I’m also the Chief Creative Officer of Off Topic Productions LLC, an independent game studio with over 7 years of experience and a dozen developers located throughout North and South America, Britain, and Europe. In March 2009, we released The Nameless Mod for Deus Ex to tremendous critical acclaim.
Presently, most of my time is spent as Creative Director at Logic Artists ApS in Copenhagen, which I co-own with three friends. In spite of this, I am wide open to job offers, in case you were wondering. You can download my CV by clicking anywhere on this sentence.
