A week or so ago, it started snowing. I think it must’ve been a gift from England – their left-over sub-zero degrees passing over our island. I left early for class and brought my camera, snapping a few shots on the way. An hour into the class, it was apparent that I had taken a course very nearly identical to this one last year, and the tutor recognized me as the person who coded up their entire (table-based) tutorial assignment using CSS. I was excused.

On the way home, I stopped near a railway area that I pass daily, and got some photos. This is the best one:

A homeless person has built a small house for himself up against a heat pipe running past a container crane. He must be getting by, because he keeps 2 dogs with him too (they did not take kindly to my photography), and I assume the nearby Scandic hotel that probably owns the property must tolerate him, because his abode is pretty visible from the road.

I took a bunch of other photos that morning, none of them quite as striking or thought-provoking as the ones above. But all of them featuring snow. Lots and lots of snow. Here they are, mouse over for short descriptions:

Okay, so I was apparently a few days early in taking that picture. What I REALLY meant to post was this:

This is what passes for a blizzard in Denmark. I would expect more storm from a snow storm, but who am I to question the meteorologists on TV? The best thing about weather like this is how it will inspire the TV news to be completely filled with enlightening interviews along the lines of “Is it even possible to get around up there?” “Well, yes, it is. Although we urge drivers to be careful.” or “What consequences will it have that a snow plow has gotten stuck on the freeway?” “It won’t really have any consequences because as soon as they get it out again, it’ll resume its work.” They actually sent a “report” from some pretty female journalist who was standing in 30 cm of snow on some field on Bornholm, telling how snowy it was >_<

But hey, as long as you’re in-doors (and I generally do my best to be), it’s all very pretty.

Guess this means winter…
